Delete Your Account – Histo Trivia
This page explains how to delete your Histo Trivia account and the data associated with it.
About this page
Histo Trivia is a histology education and quiz app. If you have a registered Histo Trivia account, you can delete it — and the personal data associated with it — directly inside the app. You do not need to be logged in to read this page. The instructions below cover both users who can still access the app and users who cannot.
If you can still access the app (registered users)
The fastest and most complete way to delete your account is to do it yourself from within Histo Trivia:
- Open the app and sign in, then go to Settings.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone section.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm when prompted.
Once you confirm, the app deletes your associated data (listed below), attempts to delete your user account record, and signs you out. This happens immediately.
If you cannot access the app or your account
If you can no longer sign in, no longer have the app installed, or otherwise cannot use the in-app option, you can still request account deletion by contacting us:
Email: [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]
To help us locate and delete the correct account, please include in your request:
- the email address you registered with on Histo Trivia;
- a short statement that you want your Histo Trivia account and associated data deleted; and
- any display name you may have used, if you remember it.
We will use the email address you provide to identify your account and process the deletion request. Do not include passwords or other sensitive credentials — we will never ask for them.
What is deleted when you delete your account
When account deletion is carried out, the app deletes the following data associated with your account:
- Game sessions — your quiz round history, scores, and per-round statistics.
- Friend records — friend requests and accepted friendships you sent or received.
- Friend codes — the shareable codes you own.
- Challenges — challenges where you were the challenger or the opponent.
- Groups you host — groups you created are deleted entirely.
- Your membership in groups you joined — you are removed from the member list of groups you joined but did not host. Those groups themselves remain available to their other members.
- Group notifications — group alerts addressed to you.
- Group messages you sent — messages you posted to group chats. Messages sent by other members remain, as they belong to those members.
- Practiced questions — records of the questions you have practiced.
- Incorrect answers — records of the questions you answered incorrectly.
- Surveys — any survey responses and feedback you submitted.
- Sponsor-click records — records of sponsor links you tapped.
The app then attempts to delete your user account record itself. The platform that stores accounts may not always support full removal of the account record; if it cannot be removed, the data listed above is still purged and you are signed out, so the remaining account record no longer contains your activity or personal data. We do not claim that your user account record is always fully deleted in every case.
After deletion
After your account is deleted from within the app, you are signed out and your local app data (such as sound, haptics, and language preferences stored on your device) is cleared. You will no longer appear in friends lists, leaderboards, groups, or challenges, and your quiz history and statistics are removed.
We may retain limited information where retention is required for legitimate operational, security, or legal reasons. This page does not state a specific retention period beyond what is described above, because the app does not define one.
